  1. Registered members of socialist party, not simply the opinion of someone...

  2. I suppose you would agree that every Labour Party higher-up is a member of the Fabian Society.

Interesting photograph this week on their website
    www.fabians.org.uk/

The history of the Fabian Society , the stated goals of the society are pretty clear. "Socialism-lite" is not the end game.

  3. Anyone who wasn't a radical would be able to see right through that article. It's a total hatchet job, rife with flimsy guilt-by-association BS.
Winston Churchill, quoted at the end, was proud of his part in founding the National Health Service of Britain, by the way.
Proud. I suppose that makes him a socialist, too.

  4. Enough hand-waving.
Answer the question: what in the Martin Wolf article indicates that Obama is a leftist?

  6. Well I see you have lowered the bar from socialist to leftist.

You, sir, are the one that is asking for the article to label Obama a leftist / socialist.............my remarks regarding your attached article was that it was mildly insane to use the words Obama and conservatism in the same sentence.

  7. Don't play your game...it doesn't fly.

The socialist party is anti war, and anti corporate bailouts...

    That disqualifies Obama...

  8. The italicized clause beginning with "after reading the attached article" indicates a conclusion drawn from the article itself.
Also, call him socialist if you like. I thought leftist=socialist, but if not, we can go with socialist.
So, what in the article indicates Obama is a socialist? Or did that clause not mean what I thought it meant? And if not, what did it mean? Because in English, anyway, its meaning is pretty clear.

  9. Fair enough.......The first part of my reply was directly related to the article.

The second part of my reply was a commentary, based upon my opinion and research, that Mr. Obama is a socialist ideologue who might be offended by labeling his political philosophy as "conservatism" (conservatism which promotes individualism at the expense of the collective).

  10. Ohhhkayyy.
You do realize that you still haven't said what in the article would confirm, let's say instead, your previously formed belief that he's a socialist ideologue. I don't see it, but obviously you must, somehow.
