Obama OUTRAGE... "Wounded Military Should Pay Their Own Medical Costs"...

  1. Which 11?
And I'll take Martin Wolf's judgment over yours, thank you:

Obama's conservatism may not be good enough

Anyway, I came to agree with Mr. Wolf after posting my bit about McVeigh in the belligerence thread. The response to that amounted to a bunch of tortured rationalizations for his bombing.
I don't remember you being one of the rationalizers, so I won't throw you in with them. However, the fact that so many of the responses were attempting to figure a way to explain away his actions was enough to show me just who I'm dealing with.

  2. The information is readily available for any who care to search.

The committee chairpersons that I will list belong to the following caucuses:

Progressive Democrats of America (6 House members)
Congressional Progressive Caucus (74 House members)
Congressional Black Caucus (43 House members)

Democratic Socialists of America = This organization does not identify their House members since they consider all members of the Congressional Progressive Caucas as part of their membership.

The Congressional Progressive Caucas, as you may know, was founded by Bernie Sanders in 1991 (Bernie is the only one with the backbone to call himself what he is, a socialist)

These current committee chairs are CPC members:

    Edward J. Markey
    George Miller
    Bernie Thompson
    Nydia Velazquez
    Charles Rangel
    John Conyers
    Henry Waxman
    Bob Filner
    Barney Frank
    Louise Slaughter
    Bob Brady

I have read, but do not have personal knowledge of the following:

The CPC website was hosted by the Democratic Socialists of America until 1999. The DSA is a group affiliated with the Socialist International.

  3. So you have no link to any member of congress who is a registered member of the socialist party...

    I didn't think so...

Bernie Sanders is a registered independent, not a registered socialist...

Typical witch hunt methodology in play...

  4. No disrespect intended sir, but after reading the attached article, all I can say is that it is sadly laughable that anyone could, with a straight face, put the words Obama and conservative in the same sentence.

Please give Mr. Obama the respect of identifying his preferred political ideology correctly, which certainly would not be conservatism.

  5. Big doodoo.
The Labor Party in Britain, the same one that Tony Blair belongs to, is technically a Socialist party. Means nothing.
If this is what you guys actually mean when you talk about socialism, it doesn't amount to much.
As for Obama, the actual fact is that even his original "public option" proposal is far short of anything that is an actual reality in Europe as I write this. It was never single-payer, despite the hysterical rantings of its opponents. That hysteria shows far more about the character of the opponents than it does about the bill they're opposing.

  7. What in that article shows Obama to be any sort of leftist? Specifics, please.

  8. True socialists would never have bailed out the banks, or any other corporate entity...

The problem really is that the right has gained such a grip over the main stream media that they define terms according to the hard right.

Obama is actually more of a moderate than anything approaching far left...

No leftist would stay in Iraq, increase the war efforts in Afghanistan, or threaten to go into Pakistan...

The term moderate republican used to be used with respect, now it has become a slur word to the hard right which governs the opinions of the RNC...

Richard Steele is know to be a more moderate republican, and when he went after Rush Limbaugh, it was pretty clear where the majority of the republicans live...hard right, the type that support goons like Palin, Limbaugh, Hannity, etc.

Conservative which actually used to something of value has now become a code word for hard right regressive...

  9. So you can't post a link to support your claims...

Just as I thought, and now you somehow can't admit it...

  10. The Caucus information is public domain.

For an article that ties it all together go to www.augustreview.com

Look for a March 27, 2009 article by Dr. David Noebel entitled "The Socialization of America"

    There, I admitted it :)
