The other way you can tell a radical is by looking at the exchange between Maddow and Armey: faced with a real world debate about a real world proposal, Armey resorts to talking about "what this has to do with anyone's notion of liberty". Radicals are always more interested in ideological purity than they are in practical solutions to real-world problems. Obama is interested in the latter, and so is still trying to figure out a compromise that would bring some Republicans on board. As this and all the other threads on this board on this subject show, it's hopeless. He's a practical man dealing with ideological idiots. He should simply give the Republicans and conservatives hell, and be done with it.
