Since the internet is a collection of thousands of servers, how does one shut it down entirely? Does the shut down affect world wide? I cannot see how it can. I suppose he could find a way to close all the US hubs, but that wouldn't stop the rest of the world. What a stupid idea.
I saw a show on TV on ngeo I believe a few years ago about Homeland Security and the Internet. There are just a few hubs where all the traffic goes through. For instance all terrestrial traffic from Asia comes through a hub in LA . They have all the equipment at the phone companies already. The government tied into the communications system years ago. It wouldn't be that hard to do for them.
