  1. Typical of Nancy Pelosi...just had the flap her mouth (just like an ex wife) and put in a jab or two during her speech and pissed off the rest of the Republicans that were going to help get this P.O.S. passed.
So much for looking out for the "Middle Class".
That Executive Compensation provision has no teeth (ex wife again). Does not apply to any existing packages that were already negotiated

"The two things in the [Senate] proposal were a limitation on the deductibility of compensation above $400,000. So if you compensated one of your employees more than $400,000 in a year and you participate in this plan, you wouldn't be able to deduct those payments. There's a provision in law today [Internal Revenue Code §162(m)] that applies to every company in America, which says you can't deduct compensation above $1 million. That was put in back in 1993 [as part of President Clinton's budget bill].

But there're a lot of exceptions to that rule. For example, anything that's considered performance-based compensation -- like stock options or other incentive-based pay -- doesn't count towards the $1 million cap. So one of the open questions that no one knows the answer to right now, is when they talk about this $400,000 cap: Is that cash compensation like the way the $1 million rule works?

You guys should hedge against an Obama win by buying Obama contracts on Intrade.

    That's what I'm doing.

  3. It's a half percent a round trip. The people that are for it want to discourage short term traders and take an unnoticeable amount from longer term trades. By Saturday they were talking about doing that in 5 years if the bailout costs the taxpayers money and then only on bigger transactions.....

So you are saying the House Republicans voted against the Bill not because they thought it would be bad for the economy, but because they didn't like what Pelosi said about their party?

Wow. Even by your own logic, you should be able to see who's really not looking out for the middle class?

That being said, Republicans are a bunch of idiots for not voting Ron Paul. Anybody who considers voting for Sarah Palin is a bigger idiot.

  5. Pelosi might need to put that 20% ACORN subsidy back into the bill in order to get mo betta Dems to vote for it...

...might be funny to see Phoney Barry Obama address his ACORN problem, and defend such a horrible version of the bill.

  6. Palin and Paul are pretty close on ideology actually.

I supported/contributed to Dr. Paul and probably would have voted Bob Barr if not for Palin.

  8. Yes, given his logic he feels that Pelosi hurt their feelings . . . and thus they snubbed the legislation.

    Give me a break!

The Republicans involved voted against this and then turned around and blamed Pelosi ( via spin-control ) so that their man, John McCain wouldn't look like an ass for heading to Washington D.C. and trying to broker a deal that wound-up sending the market DOWN OVER 700 points!

    Film at 11.

Palin can see Russia from her house.
She's closer to that Miss Teen last year than she is to any politician.

By ideology, if you mean religious issues such as abortion and gay rights. Then you couldn't be more wrong.

Paul is anti-abortion, but he basically said" this is what I believe in, but that's just my personal belief. The government should have no control over these issues."

That's a leader! Someone who might believe in different things than you, but understands that being in power does not give him the power to force his personal beliefs onto anybody.

  10. Ron Paul would have been by far the best choice.
