I lived there for about 10 years. I'm now in Texas. Actually, I prefer Florida in spite of the problems I listed (exaggerated the danger a little). I was always worried about the tsunami, though. There is a mountain somewhere close to Africa (forgot where) that eventually will slide into the ocean. When it does, the tsunami will most likely roll over the entirety of Florida. There's no where to run unless you have a plane and can get it off the ground in the rush to get out of there. I guess that danger is no worse than the Yellowstone caldera that eventually will explode.
