I know you're really not this dumb and you're just spewing out the day's talking points from Obnama headquarters, but you know very well that McCain was the lone republican hostage in the Keating 5 investigation. The counsel who ran the investigation, a democrat, is on record stating he wanted to dismiss McCain but the democrats wouldn't hear of it.

There is nothing wrong with deregulation per se. It depends on the issue. For example, we know McCain and the administration pushed hard for greater regulation of FNM and FRE but were stonewalled by Barney Frank, Chris Dodd and a solid democrat wall of opposition. McCain was right, they were wrong.

Be honest and admit the truth for once.

First of all I agree, there is nothing wrong with deregulation per se. however its obvious when more regulation is needed. Mccain openly advocated deregulation just MONTHS ago.

Oh and about FNM, you should check YOUR facts (again):

"Republicans, who controlled the Senate at the time, did not bring the bill forward for a vote. And itÃ¢â¬â¢s unclear how much the legislation would have helped, as McCain signed on just two months before the housing bubble popped."

You're just ocnfirming to me that this factcheck group is totally in the bag for obama.

All you need to do is go back and read the news articles concerning FNM and FRE. They were engaging in fraudulent accounting so their execs, all top democrat pols, could cash their options bonuses. That is just a fact. Farnklin Raines pulled in 90 mill in 6 years. They expanded their balance sheets too rapidly and became too leveraged. The regulator, an obscure government office that goes by the acronym OFHEO or something similar, tried to rein them in but they thumbed their noses at them and ran to Dodd and Frank for protection. There were hearings where one democrat after another attacked the regulator and assured everyone that FNM and FRE were safe. There are vids of the hearings all over the internet. The democrats and a few scumbag republicans blocked the legislation, legislation which McCain and Bush pushed. It clearly would have alleviated if not totally prevented the current crisis.

Obama had basically nothing to do with it, but then again, you could say that about pretty much anything that has happened since he was elected.

How McCain favoring some sort of unspecified financial deregulationin the early '90' s is relevant to anyof this escapes me. Clearly, it is being thrown up as a diversion, just as the Keating 5 nonsense is.

The bottom line is McCain was dead right about the need to get control of the democrat slush funds known as FNM and FRE. Obama was MIA.

This is what confirms that you have NO IDEA what you are talking about. You think that FNM or freddie mac somehow are the root cause or even part of the main cause of this crisis? I'm just going to stop here because you have a lot of research to do. I'll give you a hint check into the bond markets, secondary mortgage markets, and credit default swaps.

Its obvious you are voting for mccain because you always vote republican. Mccain ALWAYS has supported deregulation. Why? Because its small government. Don't get me wrong, I think small government is best...except when its so small it fails to thwart a disaster. Early 90s? Mccain supported more deregulation MONTHS AGO (on video), out of his own mouth. You did no research on mccain at all. I know you didn't. I don't like all this smearing, I only posted this because video because it speak to mccains economic policies, or lack thereof. But do you realize you are voting for a candidate who in the worst economy since the great depression possibly, and besides being in the senate for decades, doesnt even know (by his own admission) the function of the federal reserve rates? Why has he never bothered to learn? if you dont think Mccain hasnt support deregulation for years you have done NO research on your candidate
