A bombshell new book detailing the Kremlin’s efforts to undermine the US election system raised eyebrows throughout Washington this week; claiming the Obama administration hired shady opposition firm Fusion GPS to investigate Mitt Romney during the 2012 presidential election.

The tell-all, titled “Russian Roulette: The Inside Story of Putin’s War on America and the Election of Donald Trump,” describes how senior members of the Obama campaign hired the firm behind the infamous ‘Trump Dossier’ in 2012; hiding payments to the group by funneling money through its law firm, Perkins Coie.

The Clinton campaign used similar techniques when they hired the research group to find dirt on Donald Trump during the 2016 race for the White House.

“In 2012, Fusion GPS was hired to do opposition research on Mitt Romney for Barack Obama’s reelection campaign,” writes the author.

“As had become standard practice in the shadowy world of ‘oppo’ research, the Obama campaign’s payments to Fusion GPS were never publicly disclosed; the money paid to the investigative firm was reported on campaign disclosure reports as legal bills to the campaign’s law firm, Perkins Coie,” the book adds.

According to the Daily Caller, the Obama administration paid upwards of $3 million to the law firm during the 2012 election; referring to their work as “legal services.”

According to records filed with the Federal Election Commission, Obama for America paid Perkins Coie more than $972,000 after April of 2016. The first round of payments were classified as “Legal Services” and were made in April 2016, totaling $98,047. A second batch of payments, also classified as “Legal Services,” were sent to the firm in September 2016, totaling nearly $700,000. The Obama for America organization also sent payments totaling $174,725 through August 2017, according to the report.

There is nothing shadowy about it, it's a goddamn American firm run by Americans and they had to hire a foreigner because of Trump's treasons abroad. What kind of bullshit controversy is this? When did Fusion GPS become shadowy? Republicans had no problem hiring them.

The u.s. is teetering ever and ever closer to civil war, both sides are already at the point of irreconcilable differences and you now have the potential for Trump to go down for what? Collusion? LOL, only one party sent 12 million to the russians........ Obstruction of justice when he didnt even commit a crime hes obstructing for? That would be the match that sets the powder keg off too, but really the best one that CNN has now been reduced to pitching would be if Mueller tried to charged him under campaign finance laws for paying 100k to a hooker to keep her mouth shut....

Id like to think Mueller is smart enough to know the fucking shit storm he would set off if he nullified the election on some petty shit, but i dont have a lot of faith in law enforcement, I have yet to meet a cop, or a beurecrat who wasnt just an authoritarian jerk off.

Time will tell though, i guess we will see if Mueller is a barney fyfe like cartoon character whose going to get his man no matter what....... consequences be damned, or he is a rational human being...... id be willing to bet alot of money though that Trumps not going down on the bullshit CNN thinks hes getting charged on, its been funny watching their narrative drop from Trump colluding with Putin to Trump, to Trump obstructing justice for a crime he didnt commit, to trump violating campaign finance laws by signing a nondisclosure with a hooker, as the investigation fell apart on them.

Which side can we prove has gotten money, from, or sent more money to the Russians? Any evidence of Trump sending money to the Russians? Any evidence of Trump recieving money from the Russians? So far Hillary didnt only recieve 100 million from the Russians but she also paid them 12 million for dirt on Trump. Both of those facts are easily provable, so now if you want to shit on jem over uranium one, then you have to accept that Trump didnt collude with the Russians, but hillary did.......... just simple numbers. Or do you just pick and choose conspiracy theories based on whether or not they support your political opinion?

Trump Team Met With Lawyer Linked to Kremlin During Campaign

Update: The Times is now reporting that Donald Trump Jr. was promised damaging information about Hillary Clinton before the meeting.
    Read the story.

Two weeks after Donald J. Trump clinched the Republican presidential nomination last year, his eldest son arranged a meeting at Trump Tower in Manhattan with a Russian lawyer who has connections to the Kremlin, according to confidential government records described to The New York Times.

The previously unreported meeting was also attended by Mr. Trump’s campaign chairman at the time, Paul J. Manafort, as well as the president’s son-in-law, Jared Kushner, according to interviews and the documents, which were outlined by people familiar with them.

While President Trump has been dogged by revelations of undisclosed meetings between his associates and Russians, this episode at Trump Tower on June 9, 2016, is the first confirmed private meeting between a Russian national and members of Mr. Trump’s inner circle during the campaign. It is also the first time that his son Donald Trump Jr. is known to have been involved in such a meeting.

Representatives of Donald Trump Jr. and Mr. Kushner confirmed the meeting after The Times approached them with information about it.
