Living in San Diego, you meet a lot of retired seals and navy intelligence types. When you hear it from multiple people and they know things before they become public... you sort of find them credible.

The military was so tired of Obama putting off the raid...
they went in there and told him... it is happening. (Why do you think they had so much time to build a model compound and train.)

Obama then pretty much said its on your ass if this goes wrong.

  2. I heard the guy who is heading up this group last night on greta. It sounded like they were far more concerned about the leaks than Obama claiming credit for OBL. There was a tsnumani of leaks of national security inormation, all designed to make Obama look good. It had to have come from the White house. Unlike with Bush, there has been no investigation, and of course the media couldn't care less.

The objections to these leaks is twofold. One, they endanger national security by revealing stuff prematurely, like the fact that we were in on it with the Israelis in getting a computer worm into the iranian reacotrs. How exactly does leaking that information help the uS? Or going public with the fact we had OBL. The smart thing to do would have been keep quiet. That way there would have been no upset with the Pakistanis, we would not have alerted al qaeda that we had some of their secret info and we could have maybe continued to exploit the intel. Instead, Obama had to have his bug TV moment.

The other main objection is all this leaking and grandstanding puts people's lives at risk. The Pakistani doctor who helped us get OBL got a 30 year prison term. Seal Team 6 subsequently was lured into an ambush and suffered many casualties.

It's the kind of stunts you expect from amateurs who put political expediency above the country's wellbeing.
