Most of the time it comes down to the lesser of two evils. Clinton had an ok record to run on without much discussion/dissention of miltary policy or the economy. 1996 was an issueless campaign. I agree at this moment Obama's ahead and if all remains the same his lead will widen. For the reasons you've discussed earlier. He'll out appeal McCain. However much can change. Obama is gaffe prone and his waffling on policy is becoming a BIG liability. Article in the NYT today. (could've been deeper and better written) Without a bona fide record Obama had better not leave the impression of being untrustworthy. I've followed him since '96 (his 1st year in the Ill. Senate-I got smoked in an Ill. State Rep race that year) so I know political his persona well. He's full of shit. Just the fact that no one can guess with an iota of certainty whether he's a neo-con (to wit:his recent AIPAC speech) or an appeaser. He doesn't know which he is. If peace sells he'll be about peace. If the economy falters (which it will) war will then be an easy sell so I suspect he'll use war to stimulate the economy. I've heard him float 3 different tax plans in 6 months. Which is it? With Obama there's no there there. Canyonman will tell you the same thing. In Chicago Jesse Jackson's kid was 10x the political voice of Obama before his fluke 2004 Senate run. He's a real friggin' enigma. He doesn't vote on hardly anything important. This whole Orwellian thing of "change" while being policy opaque may wind up biting him in the ass as the campaign becomes more issue intensive. And before someone says "read his website he goes into detail", you need a J.D. to parch through the bs. Stuff like this: Bringing Our Troops Home Obama will immediately begin to remove our troops from Iraq. He will remove one to two combat brigades each month, and have all of our combat brigades out of Iraq within 16 months. Obama will make it clear that we will not build any permanent bases in Iraq. He will keep some troops in Iraq to protect our embassy and diplomats; if al Qaeda attempts to build a base within Iraq, he will keep troops in Iraq or elsewhere in the region to carry out targeted strikes on al Qaeda. -------------------------------------------------- Since he knows Al-Queda is in Iraq he leaves himself room on the most demonstrative issue of his campaign. I don't trust him a lick. I think he's Tony Blair. Whichever way the wind blows......
Who won Iowa in 2004...despite not being a front runner months before Iowa. "NO ONE IN MY FAMILY, EXTENDED OR OTHERWISE, VOTED FOR KERRY!" Classic klannish thinking...
No klan, we just don't care for John Kerry. Simple as that. I've never liked him. It's not a racial thing as much as you'd like to make it.
"we just don't care for John Kerry." More klannish thinking...and no, klannish has nothing to do with race.
As far as you are concerned, you think: " as far as he's concerned everyone and anyone who disagrees with him is KKK." You are as entitled as anyone else to be wrong in your thinking...
