Obama denies any video showing Michelle 'whitey' rant...

  1. Again, you are not correct. And I can give you a ton of proof. From within my own family! I have a whole generation of older relatives who confesssed that their single motivation this go around was the ability in their lifetimes to vote for an African American who has a real chance of being president.

I have my grandfather to thank for keeping me infomed about what he and his friends did when their chance came to make a statement. The other grandparents in Mississippi marshalled up their whole congregation and went "Obama for Solidarity" according to grandma. She says she hasn't voted for a white person since Bill Clinton. I asked her if not Obama, she cut me off, "Oh no doubt, Hilary!"

I have a friend who does not vote. He registered and happily marched in to the polls in Chicago. He couldn't wait to call me and let me know that he felt he had to get involved. So much so that he got ten of his non-voting friends to do the same.

And here's one that just will froth some out there. My dad is a sometimes member of Trinity United Church. And his declared position was, "I don't care what Clinton does, I'm voting Obama." He's voted Republican the last three elections and had Romney made it, he'd be actively in that camp.

The active site Black Planet (I'm a member) without a doubt is an Obama stronghold and they had a very racially based tilt. I can easily give you several others. Oh, and a sour feeling exists in many African American women who felt ostracized for not voting Hilary with their other sisters. Have you not been keeping up with the reading in the Community?

So you see, I don't need a survey. I don't have to run out and/or speculate. So be careful with your statement about "PURE conjecture."

  2. So in other words as a black Chicagoan you think you've a better grip on this than an aging commie in suburban San Diego.. :D

As you know I'm painfully honest about race (through the lense of a white Chicagoan) but I've always respected Wright and as much as I too don't like admiting this: I think Pfleger is a dedicated cleric who lives the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

  3. To this point, I definitely remember. I can honestly and openly say that NO ONE IN MY FAMILY, EXTENDED OR OTHERWISE, VOTED FOR KERRY! And they will happily tell you that he couldn't buy their vote no matter the price. :)

I don't know what's in these two men's hearts, but there's nothing Christian in those hateful sermons that have been televised - and I doubt that any good Jew or Muslim or Hindu or Buddhist would find anything from the essence of their religions in them either. Remember, God is love.

  5. I've known Pfleger for years. He's a theatrical media hound. They both are. The vids don't accurately reflect their message.

Ironically the secular (atheist) media won't say boo about the Blacks in Chicago who are TRULY assholes but they relish going after men who use the pulpit to incite their parishioners to self improvement.

Outsiders think Wright appeals to gang bangers ect. In truth his church is filled with many of Chicago's black movers and shakers and those folks aren't the ones sticking guns in anyones faces.

  6. Giggle, you're a thinker though. And you will acknowledge facts I'm sure. Sad to say, I have sat in a couple of sermons at Trinity as I was climbing the fiscal ladder. And I am fairly sure that you would definitly not have appreciated what was said on those days.

I'm also extremely happy to say, that I only sat through two sermons. I didn't agree with about 70% of what was said (the relate it to toadys' hip mindset and lingo stuff is not what I go to church for) and it seemed counterproductive to my success. :)

I respect your opinion and would be glad if they both saw the light and, in true Christian tradition, got up there and sincerely apologized to their congregations, the Clintons, white Americans and the nation overall for their offensive, racist, divisive, mean and unjustified words.

  8. The recordings of those sermons make it pretty plain to see and hear that the congregations erupt in applause when the denunciation of white people takes place. If we aren't to judge the totallity of what they do by this, then I guess people should judge kkk members by their totality also, and not just some hood wearing event.

Cubs vs sox starting, signing off for now!

  9. Correct, but it is a street cred badge though. You sit in the front wearing and looking the best so those who don't have get to see you and acknowledge that you've made it. But the mind molding indoctorination is also there. Most easily ignore and brush it off as a trade in for accolades and support. Which really is what Obama was there for in additon to bible studies/learning for the family. The church is the endorser for politics and business in the African American community. That's why it's a major stop on the campaign trails of politicians. :)

  10. It's interesting that among traders there are virtually no McCain threads at all. There is only one candidate.

This is '96 Clinton vs. Dole (minus Perot) all over again.
