great - kids can finally reach adulthood at age 34 but seriously, some people cannot understand that good citizenship means not allowing the govenment to use it's power to take anything beyond what it needs

That one ticks me off. When Bush was running for re election the discussions in High School (teachers union = Dems) were that Bush would re instate the draft. Lo and behold, Rangel is the first one to bring the issue back to the table.
Pretty well in fact. Hussein's "Youth Corp" = Hitler Youth. "He alone, who owns the youth, gains the future." Adolf Hitler Oh we gotta have a "new" program. That way President Hussein can take credit for any results, real or imagined.
Maybe they'll be too busy working to watch "The Hills" or that shit they play on MTV. Could be a good thing for society after all.
Kind of scary how many adults would support this. Yes, there are some dumbass emo kids out there. Just as there were dumbass GenXers and dumbass baby boomers.
You know it's funny that so many support the volunteer army, and yet the volunteers are pretty much forced into the service bedause of economic condiditons. some personal, some global. And may would suppor the draft to protect America, but then be against having a program to help youth mature instead of working at mcdonalds. This is not a great proposal, but I've certainly seen worse in my lifetime. c
