  3. He was friends with him a long amount of years. I am not saying that you take on your friends political views but if your a politician than your not going to be affiliated with radicals unless you believe in their views.

  4. Look at it this way Publix. Let's say a business man has 5 million dollars. He is willing to spend 2 million of it on business expansion and new business. If the capital gains tax goes up 10%, that means 10% of his business will not take place. That also means that 10% of the possible jobs coming about because of his business moves will not come about. I can't believe that you are so stubborn on thinking that rich people and institutions do not create jobs.

  5. A US dollar's value is not fixed, it also on a certain level represents the collective expertise of all of USA citizens. A tribe that can only produce trinkets will never be able to have a decent currency unless they have some natural resources or something. The point I am trying to make is that THERE ARE those individuals for whom money is not the end all be all provided their standard of living allows them to concentrate on things they are passionate about. I chose scientists for a reason.

A country that takes advantages of its most important natural resource (its people) can leverage their skills to have advantages in technology and science, thus maintaining a strong standard of living.

  6. Palin is affiliated with, and endorses a group that wants Alaska to secede from the Union, something that caused the civil war.For her to agree with the priciple that Alaska should secede,What does that say about her feelings about the United States ? Imo that is worse then just saying God D*m America.

Being associated with someone does not mean you share their views.Obama and many others (including white church members)might have felt that the work the church did for the community and wrights former service to his country outweighed the fact that he has anger issues from how he was treated in the past

  7. Bahrain does not have a personal income tax. Why is its economy not infinite? I mean if we follow Laffer's ridiculous ideas to their natural conclusion we are bound to think that if setting tax rates to 100% produces no activity (nobody wants to work) then setting them 0% should produce infinite activity. Clearly that is not the case because an economy has OTHER growth limiting factors besides tax rates. It is not as simple as cutting taxes to "stimulate the economy"

In America there is the mentality that taxes are always too high. People don't care what goes on as long as they get their tax cut. I believe it is a fundamentally wrong approach. Instead of asking whether taxes are too high one needs to ask whether government spending is too high. Taxes should reflect spending objectives.

US is a country with imperial ambitions which are ridiculously pricey. It is also has certain entitlements which it cannot currently afford. I believe the budget NOT THE TAX rates should be cut. I don't believe taxes should ever be cut if you are running chronic deficits and your debts are exploding.

  9. Publix it just doesn't make sense. The majority of people falling into government spending objectives is increasing per capita. You know why it is increasing? It is increasing because people know that government will give them free money. There is already socialistic behavior in our society which is bad for the country. Do you want this group of people taking money from government to increase or not? Simple question.

  10. Mercor

    Mercor

This is a very tired and cheap form of debate.

A question is asked about Obama and the response is an attack on Palin.

The conclusion is you agree with the premise of this thread and you are just trying to implicate more people into this belief.
