Obama and the Minister

  1. He is the perfect candidate for Repubs as they prefer style over substance..

Nice dresser, good looking, talks about vague solutions to big problems, kind of reminds you of the host of the Miss America pageant...

But you do, and you uphold that liberal double standard.

Wright is a modern day black Archie Bunker and Obama is a liar who deliberately exposed his daughters to hate speech and racism. Where is your sense of moral outrage that you would so easily unload on Bush for much less?

Of course, you forgot to mention:

Reagan was Pres of SAG for many years...

Traveled the world as spokesman of GE...

Oh yea, forgot, Gov of largest state for 8 years....

Those damn facts just get in the way don't they.....LOL....

I agree with some of your points Steve. I found Hillary to have much more detailed, concrete plans for her administration. That is one of the problems with Obama.

That and there is some shady business from Chicago that makes me uncomfortable. Not sure what is going on there....

But on my side of the fence he's my choice at the moment. I truly like the guy and the things he says. Bush had credentials etc and from my point of view it did us no good at all. I could tolerate some ideological differences if we had just gotten someone capable of good management.

Election after election its the same old thing, he seems to offer something different. I understand what you are saying, but from my point of view the last 7 years have been such a FU on almost every level that rolling the dice on this guy is not a bad deal at all.

He is the lazy. Rightwing extremists are incapable of complicated thoughts, or nuanced thoughts. Everything has to be ground down to a bumper sticker slogan, or a two-word label, or at most a 30-second soundbite. Obama's speech will not register with anyone brought up in the simple-minded us-versus-them culture of the right. And the Clintonistas like z10 can't let the real message of Obama's speech come through because they're still in this ridiculous knife fight of a Dem primary season, while the Republicans sit back and laugh and gather their general-election strength and prepare for the real battle.

Once again the Democrats have a presidential election that is theirs to lose and they seem determined to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. Go, Democrats. >_<

Please, McCain, please keep talking about 100 more years in Iraq.

  6. Uh...no...I'm way under that age..and I would never use that reference to make a point. I may use it at a family reunion or some shit. But you knock yourself out if you wish.

I personally couldn't care less about Hilbama...but you keep on flailing about.

The difference between conservatives and liberals:

Con: Teach you to fish....maintain environment for you to succeed in fishing for you and your family....no limits on how many fish you can catch...

Lib: Gov will provide you with fish.....gov will allocate number of fish you and family need....

Now, that is very basic, but that is the essential difference.....

Bush has provided: low interest rates, low unemployment, entrepenurial programs, vast opportunties all over the US...

Obama would be a complete disaster....a lot like Jimmy Carter...he is a nice fool...totally delusional.....

Would you ride on a bus with a driver without a licsense and blind in both eyes?

How hard do you imagine it is for Obama to discuss a sermon with his daughters and tell them the good parts versus the bad parts? Kids get exposed to all manner of undesirable stuff, and the best parents give them the tools to think for themselves and to live by moral standards, rather than pretending like the bad stuff doesn't exist. That this is even an issue for you says more about you than it does about the Obama family.

So now we have gone from Obama at first denying he knew about Wright's extreme hate and racism, to Obama explaining to his kids why they shouldn't listen to what Wright says even though he is daddy's mentor, councilor and friend, and like a great-uncle to his kids.

It is so much fun to watch liberals twist into contortions over this. Would you excuse George W Bush if he were in this situation? Sure you would... /sarcasm
