Any of the last 43 presidents could have givin this speech. The words are pure rhetoric. This speech has no subject only actions. You are amoung the gullible. All he is saying to this simple minded audience is make sure you elect me to a second term.
not bashing OB here...just noticing how he is toning down all the swift and 'easy' changes he was going to enact once he got in...for instance...the popular ' tax the rich theme' that got all those working man and low income/middle income votes has not been heard now since he won the election....looks to me like an advisor may have let him know that with the credit crisis the way it is, a tax on the 'rich' would be the nail in the coffin
TM where have you been? This is really "old" news. September 7th, in fact. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/09/07/obama-recession-could-del_n_124647.html?page=8
Uhmm..In debates in October with McCain he spoke abut tax increases ONLY for those making more then 250K...He's droped that
Duh. Please show me a Presidential acceptance speech that isn't full of rhetoric. Are you that naive?
I still think george Bush was a great president. So great that Obama is copying him exactly on economic and foreign policy.
.....now do you see my point? http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090108/ap_on_go_pr_wh/obama_taxes This is not the same OB from the Fall....
You mean Obama never said anything about a middle-class tax cut in the Fall? Hmmmmm . . . we must be on two totally different planets.
"They were especially critical of a proposed $3,000 tax credit for companies that hire or retrain workers." he was going to tax companies making 250k or more...now he's giving them breaks
