very nice explanation of conservatism. I had not seen it put that way. But, it struck a cord. I believe we should always be striving to come as close to natural law as possible.

The more I think about it the more I am concerned. I am bit ticked at myself for not realizing my love for natural law and my conservatism were the same thing.

And now I know why I always think leftist govt schemes are crazy.

Its because they stray so far for natural law.

I can not believe this is a revelation to me.

    Thanks for the post.

Before I get as juiced as you jem, I have some questions....

I could say "convention," but that may be too reasonable to accept.

I could say fulcrum point (as in "left leaning" and "right leaning"), but that would be compounding the reasonableness.

An anti-conventional declaration. Cite your source please.

SOME who are conservative consider themselves right ? My experience is they ALL consider themselves on the right BY CONVENTION.

HEALTHY DEFINITION OF CONSERVATISM ? What is HEALTHY (?) and please cite your source. Also, cite who the "authorities" are you refer to please.

So "authorities" you refer to speak [about an alternative description of conservatism, and] are left leaning ? Well, by golly, they MUST be "authorities" if they are on the left! But please cite your reference as to who these "authorities" are.

Natural law "informs" conservatism ? Please cite your reference. Also, you are personifying natural law as one who speaks. Natural law must be spoken ABOUT by a PERSON who CITES it as being a reference. Who IS that person or persons please ?

If you position yourself as close to natural law as possible... then if you assume natural law is the best law... then your are not just in the center or a straight line but you are the center of sphere... with everything else falling short of the mark.

so if you are as close to natural law as possible... (or platos ideals in the cave) other ideas or law are wrong left, wrong right, wrong up, wrong down.
