Obama Administration Overstated Employment by 902,000 Jobs in 2009

    no need to mince words when something is that obvious. basic statistics would say that the probability of understating a number 24 times in 25 is rather impossible unless intentional.

    revising down what quarterlies? you mean they were overstating unemployment? wouldn't that imply that the original release was not to bush's advantage?

    back up your stats, please. show me links or sources.

  3. See below. I would think the original releases were helpful to Bush as they seemed to be quiet about the downward revisions. Revising numbers upwards at a later date, I would think, would be less beneficial to a president.

    "Notice that whenever the numbers are revised, they are revised downward. Moreover, the September figures manifest an acceleration in negative net job creation (since the figures are plotted in log terms). Relative to December 2007, nonfarm payroll employment is down by 0.76 million, or 0.55% in log terms."
