okkkay.... and what was it exactly that makes him a "hero"? as far as i see it - he was obviously a very clumsy young man - and now he is a grumpy old man. he is an "expert"? for what? flying planes? or crashing them? he had to do a job back then. he failed. he wants to be president of the us? is this a joke or what?? the mcpain/failin combination will go down in history as the most ridiculous people EVER to run for prez.
Wonder who John's gonna blame that one on. George Will makes note of McCain's typical reaction to bad news is to find a villain as opposed to solutions. As an example, McCain's reaction to the news GDP shrank was, "We'll clean up Wall Street." From Will's editorial: "From the invasion of Iraq to the selection of Sarah Palin, carelessness has characterized recent episodes of faux conservatism. Tuesday's probable repudiation of the Republican Party will punish characteristics displayed in the campaign's closing days. Will's harshest seeming terms, and the bulk of his attention, seems to go to Palin. This is not surprising -- he's been one of the godfathers of the anti-Palin, scent-of-common-sense conservative fringe for some time now. And, really, one would hope that Palin's inability to nail down the precise duties of the Vice Presidency would set Will's teeth on edge.
