I had never heard of CMC before so I visited their web site to check 'em out. First thing that jumps out at you is: "CMC Markets regrets to announce that it has decided to wind down its U.S. operations. This action is intended to be effective on or about September 30, 2008. No new position can be opened after 5:00pm (EST) on August 22, 2008 and all remaining positions must be closed no later than the close of business on September 30, 2008." I guess that's no longer an option for US traders.
I don't really mind the occasional connection problems as I'm not running FXTrade all day, but some users benefitted from changing their DNS server. Preferred DNS server: 4.2.2.1 Alternate DNS server: 4.2.2.2 http://www.mediacollege.com/computer/network/dns.html Make sure you write down the old numbers (if any) in case you want to switch back.
I haven't had any connection problems in quite some time. Not since that Monday a couple weeks back when we all were having trouble. It appears Oanda figured out the problem. Everything is running very smooth and fast.
Thanks for the info TradingWise, like bugscoe says everything seems to be fine at the moment but it's worth knowing if it happens again!
MY GOD!! You are STILL with them? You have spent the better part of the past year bitching about them. Why are you still with them? Barnum would love you.
