  2. lol, why?

If the marketmaker fills your orders at the price you want then what's the problem?

When Oanda perform the way they have today they really can't be beat.

(by the way, 6 figures in this game is chicken feed in the scheme of things)

  3. Absolutely they do, above a certain threshold, there's no way they would assume the risk.

Thats what I figured. My question is that if you agree on that what motive do they have to be shady? No reason to run stops if the break even on the trade either way.

  7. I see what you're saying but there's always a motive (profit, liquidity) for them to manipulate quotes, it's whether the marketmaker has the integrity not to take advantage dishonestly. Most if not all marketmakers hedge nett exposure above a certain limit but that wouldn't necessarily stop them spiking quotes occasionally for their own benefit when an opportunity arises.

Oanda without doubt went through a spell of some very questionable tactics, disconnections, spikes, slippage, reversing trades, many are documented in this thread with supporting screenshots. A while ago across more or less every NFP release the platform would mysteriously crash. As recently as 2 weeks ago there were some very odd spikes and quote discrepancies (for an example see the video in this thread). Some were corrected, some weren't.

Going by their performance of the past couple of weeks though it seems Oanda have finally got their act together, I'm just hoping it lasts because when they're like this they really are the best out there for pretty much every trading style, even scalping!

  8. Cable, no offense... we have a proverb in Poland:

"Hope is a mother of the stupid".

  9. hope -- the general feeling that some desire will be fulfilled. be optimistic; be full of hope; have hopes

hope -- one of the three theological Christian virtues; faith; hope; charity (love)

What's wrong with hoping for something that is totally out of our control, nothing I do will change the way Oanda perform so all I can do is hope they continue to perform as well as they have been doing this past couple of weeks.

Here's another saying...."the proof of the pudding is in the eating" (or as they say in the US "the proof is in the pudding"). My Oanda experiences have been good lately, as can clearly be seen from the blotters I post.

You're sounding a bit pissed forestgril, are you still losing? Who are you going to blame your losses on now that Oanda aren't the problem?

There are plenty traders at Oanda with 7 and even 8 figure accounts, nothing strange about that. You don't believe that, come join us at Oanda's msg boards. I'm not sure you really appreciate how huge Oanda is and how terrific they have been ever since they opened years back.

Check out the figures, they don't lie. SEC filings, Oanda's own given information on their website, all true, all huge.
