  1. Their platform still showing some problems. This is demo but... :/ You know, they should try harder!

  2. I "win" all the time. I have been very successful trading forex, and this month was my best month ever - all on Oanda. In fact, I'm having such a good month that I'm beginning to wonder how Oanda can continue to support this if all they're doing is providing a market for traders like myself - which means the profits I make is either coming from Oanda, or a host of losing traders that Oanda has.

Either way, I'm much more on the alert for possible "situations" that may arise as I get more and more profitable - but so far, nothing has occured to make me raise an eyebrow.

  3. I've never encountered any problems trading spot on Oanda, save for the occasional bust of a bad spot quote which was filled outside. The box option markets are now very wide which render the product useless. Fun while it lasted.

  4. You might not have noticed them so much if you trade longer time frames but they were definitely there, believe me!

  5. It happened to Ivan on his live account, they missed his stop!

In a way I guess it's quite handy if that happens, if price moves further against you then call them and get them to 'reimbruise' (lol) the loss, or if it moves back in your favor say nothing :)

  6. No, on that EUR/AUD trade, I discovered it was me who had not entered a stop.

  7. This is a long thread -- perhaps we could summarize the problems?

  8. 1. Poor platform stability.
    2. Often disconnects.
    3. "Strange" spikes, looks like sometimes they are stop hunting.
4.Lies: they will tell You everything is automatic, but it obviously is not.
    5. Spreads widening beyond news time.
    6. Problems with fills (slippage).
    7. Poor technical analysis software.

All this was usual just a month ago, I don't know now, but better don't trust this (or any :D ) broker.

    Anyhow some pros to:

    1. Very low capital requirements.
    2. Trading versatility - trades of any size.
    3.Comparably low spreads.
    4. They have good data feed with as low as 5sec charts.
    5. Fast money withdrawal without removing Your account.

  9. I don't trade odd-lots, but I can see why that makes Oanda so popular. I started trading with Oanda due to the box options, but I actually like the platform -- trading spot from the chart, as well as the simplicity of setting SLs and TPs on the chart. I've yet to take slippage on size up to 10MM units.

I've had issues with ghosting and overlap on winxp. I now run Oanda on Solaris and haven't experienced any problems. I just bought 500k units gbpjpy and it was immediately marked higher.

  10. I got those ghosting issues too. I suspect its my combination of gfx drivers and java-version. It only started since a month or so..

No severe problems here either, apart from connectivity issues from time to time.
