So whats the alternative? There are countless complaint-threads about IB and CMC too, some of them even legit complaints (the theme of the CMC threads appear to be connectivity problems and subsequent not executed orders, and absurd Nasdaq pre-market spreads raping stops left and right).
I have to admit - I don't know! But Cabletrader plays with CMC, and I think, he is a good trader.... Have You experienced many problems with CMC Cable? I mean the shorter time frame. But not pure scalping for 5 pips. I think of at least 15-20 pips or so. Maybe GFT would be good? Did they lower the spreads recently? I do not know.... maybe futures.... I liked Oanda for the spreads and 5-sec charts... But this is to much
What does this thread have to do with CMC, IB, or the Nasdaq, it's about Oanda isn't it but anyway...... Can't say I've seen any CMC connectivity problem threads or experienced any connection problems myself, where are they? Pending orders are held on their servers so would be executed regardless, unless you're talking about market orders in which case they have a direct line straight to dealers and it takes less than 10 seconds to place an order, or maybe 15 seconds to change/cancel a pending order. And pre-market Nasdaq spreads don't really affect forex traders. I wish someone would pop up with a reasonable explanation for all these mysterious Oanda spikes and 40 pip price differences, it would certainly put an end to the mystery. Anyone? Even an improvement on the "US government sponsored aliens with laser beams" conspiracy theory would be better than nothing
I will help you, overall SCAM rating http://trade2win.com/knowledge/brokers/cmc-markets/reviewOnly http://www.forexpeacearmy.com/public/review/www.cmcmarkets.com Some good alternatives Hotspot EFX IB and best of all FUTURES
Considering Oanda always corrects (as far as I know) the trades caught in these spikes, I'm not sure I see how Oanda is stealing anybody's money? And flutt, i also have an account at EFX and Oanda is way better as far as I'm concerned. So don't fool yourself into thinking the ECN is the holy grail.
I started with CMC quite a few years ago when they were known as Deal4Free in the UK, they were the bucketshop from hell (as pippi said they were nicknamed Steal4Free!) but I was green and didn't know any different at the time, they would have made Oanda look like amateurs as far as bucketshop tricks go. I guess reality must have hit home when they realized their share of a growing market was shrinking so they cleaned up their act. Don't get me wrong they're not perfect but from my experience they are fair. I've scalped with them, traded news (with requotes but equally positive as negative), had longer term trades, even the occasional arb but don't tell them. Mystery spikes simply don't happen, period. Reversed trades must be extremely rare because I've never had one or heard of one and I must have placed the best part of ten thousand trades with them. Everything I've thrown at them they've taken pretty much. It's what I would call 'quiet' trading, no platform issues or spikes and misquotes, just simple trading without any aggro leaving me time to focus on the market and do my job. I've tried a few marketmakers, either someone has asked me to trade an account or I've seen an advert somewhere and been reeled in, you know what it's like. Alpari UK, GFT, Oanda, the various experiences made me appreciate CMC all the more. I was saying to someone the other day that chosing a MM that's a good fit can depend a great deal on the strategy, time frame, and style of trading. Maybe Oanda will clean up their act given time, it was only a few months ago that data like NFP was untradeable due to disconnections and now look, I traded right through the numbers a few weeks ago without any problem!
Gotta agree with that, some are worse than the worst bucketshops! Is EFX still in business, I thought they're MBT now? How do you find them bugscoe? I see their rep posting around the forums and he seems helpful enough and he always has an answer or explanation for any problems.
lol, Felix's forex peace army, give me a break! Most of those reviews are written by morons, for morons, right up your street I imagine flutty! Hey while you're there look up Oanda, and maybe here too, and CMC while you're at it here Reviews mean diddly, you'll find good and bad for every marketmaker out there.
http://www.efxgroup.com/ I liked the concept when I first opened an account. But I had some overnight orders that never got filled, delayed prices and fills and way too high of a commish.
Correction : Steal4free You were green ?! as MM maybe LOL Reality has hit home ? Recent ratings on T2W say otherwise You said you could not find anything negative about CMC, just a quick look around revealed otherwise. Insults are indeed the only argument left... So far no issues with ECN's IB,Hotspot and EFX
