NYT: Trump’s Trade War Is Rattling China’s Leaders

  1. Regardless of what anyone predicts for the final results of the the China - US trade war, China's stock market is taking a beating during the early stages of the war.

The next question: Is there a correction looming for US indices or do they continue higher through international inflows as a perceived asset safe haven?

  2. First as far as a tariff free world, not gonna happen. The French would burn the EU down well before that. Also the Corn Lobby on K street wouldn't allow it either. Subsidies and Tariffs make up a good part of the world economy.

Eventually, China will come around and work out a deal, both sides will go back home saying they won, and this is what negotiation is about, when you are done you both think you got the better deal. Also, outside of the Political Russia drama, the US really doesn't need Russia to sell to. But what about all of that Wheat from the midwest going to Russia, losing money vs starving, I think that is the bottom line. The EU has already done some negotiations with the US, and so that is already in play, so it is not all gloom and doom.
