Follow the money and all that: https://mobile.nytimes.com/2018/04/09/us/politics/trump-mueller-ukraine-victor-pinchuk.html http://thehill.com/homenews/adminis...150k-payment-ukrainian-magnate-gave-to-trumps
Heh. Preet tried to shake Trump down for a job. He had investigations pending against Camp and Family Trump and Trump knew it but Preet still went to Trump Tower to discuss his re-appointment. The lefties try to make it look like poor preet was a victim but it's the other way round. Almost all or all the other U.S. Attorneys were required to submit their resignations but Preet though he had little sumpin sumpin on Trump that he could play and make Trump look favorably on him. We all know that the lefty states will try to get trump too which only confirms that it is a legal witch hunt. And yes, the states can prosecute under state law (although when you can prosecute a sitting president is bigger constitutional question). But NY can't impeach him, and New York lacks jurisdiction to prosecute him on obstruction of justice on the Comey thing- the two big areas where Mueller's is hoping to make a kill but can't. The fact that trump is open to state prosecutions may actually work to his favor. There are some pundits that argue that if Trump pleads the fifth then mueller will just give him immunity and compel testimony and then use the evidence produces as part of the his strategy to prepare a case for the dems to impeach him. But it is argued by other pundits, that unless he also has immunity from the states, he cannot be compelled to testify against himself in a federal process. Works both ways too. If the feds do not get an indictment/conviction on Hillary on the Clinton Foundation, Arkansas can have it based on the Foundations presence there in addition to New York. The current fed investigation about the foundation was assigned to the U.S. Attorney in Arkansas.
Trump attorney Cohen is being investigated for possible bank fraud, campaign finance violations, according to a person familiar with the case https://www.washingtonpost.com/poli...acd97698cef_story.html?utm_term=.bb0ce79e969b
“The special counsel is investigating a payment made to President Trump’s foundation by a Ukrainian steel magnate for a talk during the campaign… as part of a broader examination of streams of foreign money to Mr. Trump and his associates in the years leading up to the election,” the New York Times reports. “Michael Cohen, the president’s personal lawyer whose office and hotel room were raided on Monday in an apparently unrelated case, solicited the donation.”
Maybe if Mooler can squeeze Trump's lawyer hard enough he can get him to flip, and get him to describe how Trump colluded with Putin to steal the election. That way, Moooler can distract the nation further from the fact that he and the deep state tried, and are still trying, to steal this election. Something comes to mind: "Unreasonable search and seizure".
I don't see how Mueller can seize documents covered by attorney client privilege under the allegation a crime *may* have been committed... Accusations can be made against any defendant and their lawyer to seize case files and eliminate AC privlg. Defeats the purpose.
