  1. A single post? You mean about a hundred posts, don't you?

Well, Hamlet, you did ask me to explain my point, so I explained it. I think I made my point. If you have now decided it is off-topic, after you asked me to explain it, then I will oblige you once again and leave the issue behind and focus on the NYSE, rather than on the validity of your poll.

See the post above. Thats right, a single post in the thread you reference, made in err. The fact that I have access to two aliases here does not mean I voted twice in the poll. Even if I did, that would hardly skew the results.

Since this does seem to be a burning issue with you, just do as I suggested and check with the moderator. You will see that I have not even voted in my own poll. I created the poll, but decided to refrain from voting. You can verify that. Those poll results speak for themselves. You seem to be all bent out of shape about that. Get a grip. Refrain from accusations that I have voted multiple time here unless you have proof.

Let's get back on topic for the good of all.

  3. Hold on there, pardner!

I never accused you of voting multiple times in the poll. I said we have no way of knowing how many times you voted in the poll, because you are known violator of EliteTrader Terms of Service, through your use of multiple aliases, and we have no way to know how many aliases you use.

I presume that you did not vote in your poll using aliases known to the moderator, but this does nothing to verify that you don't have other aliases from which you voted, unbeknownst to the moderator. I suspect that the only reason the moderator knows about your use of multiple aliases is because I brought it to his attention.

If you don't want to explain why you are using multiple aliases, I quite understand, and I will stop questioning the validity of your poll, and I will focus my discussion on the NYSE (since you feel questioning the validity of this thread's poll is a deviation from the thread topic).

PIYP if you want, JIMHO, because, Jimrockford, you may be selfish, only looking from your point of view, with no regard to the fact that there happens to be another person on the other side, or that they may also have feelings, a life, emotions etc...

  5. Well, I'm willing to let it drop if everybody else does. I don't agree with your commentary, and perhaps you are not familiar with the history on the previous thread about "Observations on the NYSE Specialist", but I'm willing to let this issue go if Hamlet will do so.

You are wrong, I owe you nothing, but I have already explained why I have access to two aliases. If it bothers you that I have access to two aliases on ET, which I freely admit, go ahead and sue me, complain to ET or whatever else will make you feel better.

As far as the validity of the poll, go ahead and check on this with the moderator if you wish. Just post your findings here when you do, so the truth will be known to all. How many times must I invite this? Get the proof or stand down.

Questioning the validity of the poll is off topic imo since the same suspicions could be raised on any ET poll by anyone who does not like the results, as appears to be the case here.

Who do you want to put your faith in? Hugo Chavez?

Why dont you build a system from scratch and see how many takers you have, and if you can finance it, and make a return on your investment?

  8. You boys need to drop the nagging cuz you both have good points to offer...just argue about the topic and ignore any personal attacks...fly on the wall, here.

Nitro mentioned back a page or two, "Everyone is trying to arb you"...what does that mean exactly, or in your opinion, explicitly and with example?

What do you think the possibility of a trader being 'marked' (specifically identified via your trading platform / pinged for computer signiture / address) and a 'profile' created of your trading style / length of time in the market on average / other equities that trading platform signture / computer address is currently in, such that an algorythm specifically for you is kept in a database to be used to screw you specifically when opportunities arise (low volume-slow periods), in one or all equities currently being traded if the opportunity is there for computer based mm / specialists?

What do you think of the possibility of a mm / specialist computer looking up into your watch list on your trade platform and 'seeing' your potential trades as you point and click but don't yet approve for execution...'the ability to see your cards', 'the ability to see you coming' and miraculously the price moves away as you point and click on what the current BID or ASK is as you ponder your next move, or the mere fact your electronic signiture for your computer / platform is idle...off....active....having a significant impact on price movement stratagy by computer based mm / specialist.

Do you think electronic trading could head this direction?

    hmm...

  9. Those who try to compete with the NYSE do not have a level playing field, because of unfair government rules and laws which protect the NYSE monopoly against fair competition. Competitors have risen, despite the unfairness and governmental unfairness. Witness Island, ARCA, Nasdaq's SuperIntermarket facility for trading NYSE-listed stocks, BRUT, etc.
