That's how I read it also. Looks like you will be able to leave orders on the book over 5 minutes now without incurring the specialists fees.

  7. I just want to thank Ray for joining in, and for all the help with the NYSE blog. His efforts have been very well received by all Bright Traders (and I'm sure everyone else).

    No Specialist fees...."yea" "yea"....

Now, give us your best shot on when the other shoe will fall to offset all this (and in what form). I truly believe that there will likely be some other revenue stream for NYSE group, I'm just wondering what form it might take. If it's only the 2.5 cents per hundred charge, that would be wonderful (doubtful, but wonderful, LOL)..

    Thanks again for everything!

  9. Don, thanks for the kind welcome. Just figured I'd answer a question I came across here. And on your question, sorry, but if I speculated on a forward-looking statement like that, however informally, I'd be in a whole lotta hot water.

    :D

And Avid Consumer, ouch! I'd stack NYSE's uptime against anyone's, but I know there's never a good time for a glitch, and even one problem is one too many. Sorry!
