geez, look at the size of this thread...

I had a block of 1700 shares print 1% below the bid on the stock I was trading 2 days ago... It was a NYSE print. There was no sale condition attached to the print... I was posted on the inside with the NYSE and didn't get a fill... I was thinking how can this happen?????

I later found out that since Reg NMS came into play that our system wasn't always displaying sale conditions correctly... This was obviously some kind of late print. (Although at the time I thought I had been totally ripped off by the NYSE...)

  2. "THE OP was referring to Dark Liquidity Pools that print size outside of the market.

NYFIX, Liquidnet, POSIT, and Pipeline are just a few of the many algorithmic based DLP's.

i have seen this coming FOR YEARS... these systems really should be illegal.

    whatever.

    lol

    Surdo

They are owned by the SELL side!
The buy side pays to use them.

Why are they illegal, join one.

  4. obviously they are not illegal, but i think that prints should be posted in real time, mandated by law, on the consolidated tape, at the time of transaction.

    thats just me.

im not terribly upset about this - i have used FIX for years so i know what goes on on the inside of these firms.

    im just saying.

and no, i am not paying to use those systems, thanks.

    lol.

  5. Another great post by RockFish.

I provide liquidity on the NYSE...
And have seen virtually no difference in my volume/profits over the last few months.

Trading the NYSE for me is different only in very subtle ways...
But I'm not gonna relax for a few more months.

Consolidated volume is down about 20% for unclear reasons...
Or just that reporting has changed.

    My volume routed through SMART...
Has gone from 93% NYSE to 87% NYSE...
Taken over by SMART/IDEAL... up from 2.7% to 7.6%...
And Island... up from 1.6% to 3.2%.

I have no idea if those IB "crosses" are happening cheaper...
Because it's a drop in the bucket for me...
And I have no control anyway.
