NYSE orders at market open won't go through

    Below the current bid is only marketable, in a sense, if price then trades below the bid.

    Sorry what do you mean by that? Wouldn't it be a market order in that case? So if the bid is 219.6$ and I send a limit order 219.55$, wouldn't that be like a market order?

    A limit order above the bid, in most but not all circumstances, would become in a sense a market order. Not below.

    Ever heard of the expression - "like pulling teeth." 6 posts to get all pertinent details. :confused:

    Anyway without looking at time and sales any comment is a pure guesswork, that someone else can do.

  7. Have multiple accounts on, different platforms see which one hits first. As a retail trader you have to work that much harder to complete a task. Keep those plebians in thier place.

    No I posted that when I assumed, as l think others maybe did, order was a buy.

    Therefore a limit buy above the bid, or a limit sell below the offer what just execute as if it was a market order.
