I've noticed on a certain stock ive been trading a lot that i might be long, offering out say 2000 shares at 50 cents and there might be about 5000 at that level.... then on the level 2 it will turn my nyb level into 100 (or sometimes take it 3 or 4 levels up and turn it to 100)... and then holds the stock there for about 10 seconds.
I think im getting out as my nyb level has turned to 100 but then it prints down large and a huge wall jumps in front of me and im screwed for the short term. is this common on the nyse and is it unfair for the specialist to turn a large level into 100, hold it there and not print anything? And often a so called 100 level on the offer side can hold up a stock aborbing tens of thousands of shares without there being anything showing on the offer side at that level?!?
