Unless you are a NYSE specialist or third party market maker, I don't see how this can be done on a consistent basis. With a closed system like on NYSE, you depend on the whim of the specialist. I guess it is possible that you could find a really stupid specialist. If so, then good for you.

    Good trading.

  3. there are a litany of excuses to stonewall those whose orders have been ignored. If one makes a sideline career out of complaining, he might get a bone thrown to him just to shut him up. if it's a big enough deal, there's always litigation, but, it doesn't sound quite that momentous.

    My two cents.

I constantly had that problem with NYSE stocks.
I still believe the specialists are a bunch of crooks.

My limit buy order would always be traded past by
a few pennies and NO fill! Only if the price traded
way past my limit, I would get a fill and be down
    a nickel already.

That's why I only trade Nasdaq stocks.
If it trades through the price, I ALWAYS get filled.

    To be fair:

Some people who are able to read the specialists
and trade NYSE stocks consistently and profit from them.
I'm just not one of those people.

doing to the bull ( image in the middle of the page)?

    Rigel,

There could have easily been buy orders in before yours, particularly because of the small volume printed. If there was no more stock for sale at that price, then you're out of luck. The prints could also have been on an ECN, in which case there's no obligation for a fill on the floor, and it was legal for the ECN to trade through by up to 0.03.

Why not post the details of the trade if you feel you're right? There are people here who trade NYSE all day, every day, who can easily tell whether you're assertion is correct, or help explain why it isn't. That's how we all learn.

You'll get problems similar to this with Nasdaq market makers.
