  2. Several other sites down as well Baron. Stockcharts problem yesterday. Etc. Etc.

US intelligence agencies were hacked and employee data stolen. The severity of the attack was downplayed in the media and the attack was only discovered by accident. Could have been going on for months? Then the people who don't detect it, claim to know who did it? Was it a false flag? My head hurts just thinking about it.

Could the US retaliate against the Chinese stock market similar to the rumors that they did against North Korean movie critics. If so, could there be a counter-attack against the incoming DDOS attack? Denial of service attacks are bloody hard to stop especially if the wrong X500 implementation is used. There are such things as unsolvable problems in the network world and network failure is exponential not linear.

My first thought was a cyberwar. Then I read this:

Who really knows. Lucky I cleaned house waiting for earnings reports. (AA today I think.)

a coincidence is a random event we assign meaning to

don't mean shit unless you have all the facts

    coincidence...superstition, same thing to me

although I will say, I have experienced things just too powerful and life changing to chalk them up as just "coincidences."

  5. I agree with you. But here is the problem in the internet universe - The entire war could be over in 10 minutes. The congressional investigation will take years gathering all the facts. and what would they use - pen and paper? That could bankrupt the system. Overseas war is now obsolete IMO except for MAD.

I don't think this was a serious attack (if it was) because your power is still on.

ok my friend, but just remember how the world was in the time of Lincoln. No internal combustion engine, no electricity, no internet. And still they had it together enough to fight one of the most brutal wars this country ever experienced. It's a matter of personal choice. If you want to see what a world would look like with no internet and no electricity you can watch one of these new movies, or you can just watch "Gone With the Wind."

This is the future of warfare. One day you will wake up and all the money is gone from your account. Or you are driving down the street and your car tells you it is now owned by Dimitri in Moscow. LOL.

and everybody wakes up and the first thing they do is check their account balance to see how the war is going

  9. LOL - I guess you have an advantage over me then, I was not here in Lincoln's time.

I am not saying to go backwards and I agree with you. Tell your kids to fight a war today and they will ask what button or game to download. Imagine a battle between today's kids and Lincoln's kids. It is not just technology, it is zeitgheist and the continuous battle between dependence and self-sufficiency. Real war costs too much money. So it has been outsourced.
