  1. Lobster,

If you read all the way through these pages, you will see that I first started with a shorter term strategy focusing on momentum. After some helpful encouragement, I changed my investment pick strategy to a way that I would actually invest my money.

I have searched using fundamentals and have since done very well. This is sound investing and they way I will invest when I have more experience. The only difference is that I expect to be selling calls on some of my stocks in the future (which I can not do on my fund).

Would love to hear what similarities you found between my previous mistakes and your own.

  2. I believe selling premium will make you a lot of money. You might want to consider selling puts instead of selling calls and buying the underlying. It's quicker, easier, and should incur a lower commission cost.

Buying a stock on the first day of a big selloff. It's just not worth it (in general). What it boils down to is you're fighting the trend. The most noteworthy exception to this rule is (as you have apparently discovered for yourself) if you sell a naked put (or buy the stock and sell a call). I used to trade naked MO puts last year. They would sometimes jump intraday from $1.10 to $4.20 and back to $1.80 and stuff like that.

    Moohead

    Very interesting.....

Apparently you are on your way to the goal, that's 10% gain a month.

Based on that return, with one million dollars in a year you will get to 3.1 million, in two years you will amassed 9.7 million. That's very cool:)

Selloff soon? The VIX is still sitting pretty firm at 20ish- I still CAN NOT justify any more upward movement. Only things I can see is steady or downward movement.

I will look increase my portfolio to 1.3M by 10/15/03- theoretically will be easier, because this is not a 10% increase (nor was my previous goal of 1.2M). I am reaching points that are at my selling target, must now decide on whether I can find better investments right now.

  10. Are there any other investors out there, or are you all traders? I would like to see some results of investors and chat about what they are looking for in companies right now.
