  5. Thanks for the pictures!

Grand Central Station looks nice on picture and TV! actually, it's quite hot and stuffy in the summer, or the whole NYC subway tunnel, and some of the trains don't have air conditioner, it can get quite stuffy. Remember one of the Seinfeld episodes, where Elain got stuck on one of a "dead" trains, and it didn't move anywhere, she felt "suffocated" and she wanted to scream MOVE outloud. I think I could relate to that experience.

  6. It was my understanding every soldier in the Army in ww2 heading to Europe passed through Grand Central. I forgot what two lines they were but they are still in operation. My Dad went to Europe in WW2 and never thought to ask him if he came and went via grand central but I'm sure he did.

Thank you for the photos Nitro - I enjoyed them. I worked in the city as trader from 1998 to 2003. Your photos made me miss New York all over again! I especially miss the co-op music scene, where it was so easy to meet great players and play live on the weekend at all the little clubs like the Red Lion.

You are all welcome. Glad you enjoyed it!

For all those that want to go back, I leave you with a (part from a) poem:

"We shall not cease from exploration
And the end of all our exploring
Will be to arrive where we started
And know the place for the first time." - T.S. Eliot -- "Little Gidding" (the last of his Four Quartets)
