"Put me in my place" with a link to an article which stated exactly what I stated? Perhaps that term doesn't mean what you think it means, or you just couldn't be bothered to actually read the entire article? It is good that you noted the guy whose post consists of "Alright you asshole. Get your fucking facts straight." is a troll....oh, sorry I got it wrong, you think that's the brilliant half of the conversation? Perhaps "troll" is another word that doesn't mean what you think it means?

BTW, interesting that you picked two of the 3-4 people on the board who actually work in the securities industry (I do not) and hence have some clue WTF they're talking about as the "trolls" on the site. I guess I'll count that as a compliment!

  2. I'm referring to the "new" UTC. The UTX (UTC) that you're referring to technically isn't going to exist. It's splitting into three parts: UTC, Otis, and Carrier. UTC will consist of, what is now, Collins Aero and Pratt & Whitney and the executive office will base out of Palm Beach. The executive office is new and several executives (CEO's among them) transitioned there. Now do you see any connection between the topic this thread and what I'm talking about. I can tell you just don't get it.

Actually you're again just completely incorrect. Is or is not Gregory Hayes the CEO of what you call the "new" UTC (There is only one CEO of a company, just so you know)? Is or is not Michael Dumais the COO of what you call the "new" UTC? Is or is not Paul Eremenko the CTO of what you call the "new" UTC? You asked who was going to be left in CT and I told you, apparently you just didn't like the answer? Hint, they all are continuing to hold those positions. And they all are remaining in CT, at what remains the "new" UTC HQ after spinning off Carrier and Otis. As I've said over and over, Rockwell Collins is not UTX, it is a division of UTX, new or old! The guy in charge of that division, David Gitlin, is not some kind of co-CEO, there aren't CEO's (plural) of the organization, he is President & Chief Operating Officer, Collins Aerospace. "All the executives of UTX relocated to Palm Beach Florida mid 2018" is most certainly not true, in fact all of the Cxx level executives did not relocate at all and are still in CT and staying there. Not to mention the guy you seem so hung up on relocated not from CT but from Iowa!

Here's the deal, human brains, yours, mine, everyones, filter everything they see through the lense of that brain's worldview. If your worldview is FL=no income tax=conservative=my tribe=good and CT=taxes=liberals=enemy tribe=bad, then when you skim through an article by a regional development organization touting how much business is moving there and they mention UTX your brain either fills in what you skimmed over or just replaces it in your memory with what fits your worldview. My brain would probably do the same if I read something about a company moving to CA from Kansas, for example. This is part of how brains are wired, neither you or I can change that.

The difference between you and I is that 1. I'm aware that this happens, 2. I look out for it and try to correct it when it happens, and 3. When someone points out that I've done it I realize "damn, happened again", revise my memory to the truth, and move on having learned something new about both the tricks brains play and the actual event in question. Do a quick search on this board for my name and the times I've said something to the effect of "I stand corrected, you were right", you'll find it a few times.

You, on the other hand, appear to not be aware of this phenomenon. Because you're not aware it exists you don't realize when it happens. Therefore when it does happen your response is to become belligerent while doubling down on your incorrect assertion with the idea that you can never, never be wrong when it comes to something that supports your political narrative. If that's not how you operate my apologies, maybe you're just having a bad day today and this thread isn't representative of your normal mode of operation?

Sig may have some cracks in his story, but destreio is not gaussian that I can confirm. Destreio and sle are 2 of the real PMs/traders vs the 98% of crap that posts here. Not sure why you are calling them out, you could learn something from them.

I'm not employed in trading and have never claimed to be. I flew in the military as a pilot for 20 years and became an entrepreneur currently on my second startup in the electricity generation and distribution field after a successful exit on my first. I think I've been pretty consistent on that, if you have questions you're always free to PM me and we can discuss. Seems like a reasonable request if you're going to question someone publicly, no?
I've extended the invite to several folks to come meet up at the office but they remarkably always go silent when they get called out. Come to think of it, @Stockolio is one of those folks who failed the put up or shut up test, still waiting to hear from him (https://www.elitetrader.com/et/thre...ons-leasing-buildings-to-wework.328917/page-6).

I have no dog in this fight but like to offer a couple of comments:

    1. Don't know about other states, for California, the state taxes us for our total income if we are California residents. California will still tax you for your California income even if you are not a California resident. So if I work for Silicon Valley, my out of state residency will not shield me from California tax.

    2. However, if I retire and move to Nevada, all my future incomes, including pensions, social security, stock options, future stock grants, investment incomes, capital gains ... are no longer taxable by California. It is tempting to move out, and many of of my retired colleagues did and are living on the Nevada side of Lake Tahoe or near Las Vegas.

  9. Greg Hayes owns a second home in Sarasota Florida. Relocating there for the reasons ironchef mentioned could be likely once UTC breaks up and folks collect their checks.
