I'm working on restructuring my finances to last longer in NY, before I go completely independent. Can a few of you guys give me your baseline expenses per month so I have a ballpark idea of what to target, if I start out prop trading. I live in Manhattan, but I'm thinking about moving to NJ or Queens and picking up an hour commute if I can get my rent down to around 1k/month. My lease expires on August 31st. Nice thing about NJ is that they have Wal-Marts out there, but I'd need to get some POS car and pay insurance. Not sure how I should go about this.
