Too late, I already sent them a mail Reply from Rithmic confirms what you said about not supporting equities: Any other suggestions?
Nope, sorry. I don't even trade equities, outside of my retirement accounts. Do share if you find a suitable replacement though.
It turns out that NxCore is not going away; but there will no longer be associated with DTN. Link to the NxCore message thread: http://nxcore.websitetoolbox.com/post/dtn-discontinuing-nxcore-eff-11302018-9710282 Summary: Please be assured that your investment in NxCore is safe. We are absolutely continuing the NxCore service. New developments are in the works that will greatly improve NxCore delivery to our customers. It's still a little early for an official announcement, but stay tuned for more news in the very near future. We are entering a new era of excellence that I am excited to share with you....soon! Frank Still Director of Operations Nanex, LLC The confusion comes from the fact that John is with DTN, and DTN is losing NxCore. So, they (DTN) would like you to transition to one of their other products so they can keep your money, and that is why they continue to repeatedly refer to a transition. Make no mistake about it, NxCore will continue forward without DTN and it will be better than ever. It will also be seamless for our users (IE *NO* code modification required. The NXC tape format, its contents, and DLL/SO callbacks will be identical). After 11/18 we simply won't be associated with DTN. Jeffrey Donovan Senior Software Engineer Nanex, LLC
Thanks for that DaveV. Now things are starting to make a little bit more sense. Shame on Jerry Chandler for going 10 emails back and forth with me, trying to sell me IQFeed without telling me what was really going on with NxCore. I will be looking forward to that announcement from Nanex, still hope to become a customer!
+1 for NxCore - great for most realistic intraday trading. If you need sub-millisecond latency/you are a scalping wannabe, and you're asking here - you can't afford that. Your competition programs in co-located silicon and is laughing at your sub-6-digit budget.
Yep. I had thought that the NxCore server software would simply be moved from DTN to QUODD. But it appears that at least some of the software is a rewrite, because the QUODD software is not supporting a large part of the features that DTN does. In particular, QUODD first offered software that only supported Quotes and Trades; i.e. no Category messages, which include critical info such as previous day Close, today's ex-dividend stocks, and halt message. I told them that that was unacceptable to me, so I am still running on DTN month to month. Check back in a couple months to see if QUODD has cleaned up their act.
