Offense is the best defense, but this is a new low of truth twisting. So, the main story now is that foreign targets were spied on specifically to allow spying on trump. I shake in disbelief. This is so pathetic that I have no words.

  3. What are you shaking in disbelief at? Certainly if the Obama administration misused surveillance authority to probe an opposition presidential candidate, not to mention scores of other political and judicial figures, you would have to concede that it was monumental misconduct that should land people in prison.

Yes, if the Obama administration misused surveillance authority to probe an opposition presidential candidate this is a felony (not a lawyer here but it seems highly illegal).

This is exactly what Trump twitted about. However, not a shred of evidence was produced to support it. Now this incidental intel is being used to cover Trump ass so he does not look like a total fool. But it could bite back in a very hard way.

  5. So at worse, we have the exact same amount of evidence that Obama or his underlings illegally surveilled Trump as we have that Trump was involved in some nefarious conspiracy with Putin?

We understand that the NSA collects all electronic communications. What we know very little about are the details of how it is decided and who decides which of billions of communications will be archived, decoded and looked at by human eyes. Those activities are going on right now under Trump, just as they did under Bush and Obama. Any suggestion that Obama was personally involved with selecting Donald Trump's communications to look at, without any evidence of such, is absurd. I think President Trump, should step back, stop Tweeting, sit down, and try to act like a grown-up.

A childish attempt to parlay this continuous, all encompassing NSA surveillance into a justification for President Trump's hopelessly misguided Tweets is absurd. That doesn't preclude, of course, the President's Tweets from acquiring a modicum of street credibility among his low-information voters. Sadly, Tweets of the 'gee whiz Obama is wiretapping me' variety are just more of seemingly endless indications that our President is a scoundrel.

Thank you. Could not have said it better myself!!!!! Absurd is the right word. I assume that most people on this forum are intelligent, and yet they just refuse to acknowledge this and yell Trump is right, he was wiretapped. Just mind boggling.

Hail marys, death throws as the realization sinks in that they elected a guy now under FBI investigation.

The head of the Intel Committee said he personally viewed the evidence. Not one of the Dems sitting on the Committee have protested his analysis publicly. And you contest this as hearsay? That's not rational. Considering the background we have on the NSA, which is far more then Piezoe thinks, if he would bother to use the search engine for a couple hours.

I would not make this assumption. Look at the logic applied to many arguments on here.
