The montafort (sp?) thing was kinda interesting! Ten million a year to make politicians feel warm and fuzzy about Putin?**!!?? Holy Shit! (I wonder if it is true?) Snowden told us this "listening in" was going on. It Started apparently under G.W. Bush admin. The NSA apparently collects all phone traffic, and maybe it is all electronic communications for all I know. they collect it on everyone apparently, Obama, Trump, You and me. It is there somewhere and we are learning that they regularly monitor all foreign agents so if there is a transmitted conversation between a foreign agent and a U.S. citizen, it appears that not only will it be collected and archived but it will be monitored. Meaning, I suppose, somebody is actually going to look at it. So far though it appears Trump's allegations that he was wiretapped by Obama appear to be groundless. Looks like this montafort guy may get a long unpaid vacation courtesy of us tax payers. I don't know if there will be golf, but there surely is at least ping pong in the rec room. Maybe he'll have a chance to get to know Bernie personally.
1. as another poster keeps telling everyone here... we already have every phone call and text. It started long before bush... Echelon is the name of the program where we capture everything using our technology but we let aussies and brits spy on our citizens and we spy on theirs. see below... and if you really dig into old news stories you you can even see the incredibly massive building they built a decade ago to house all the computer power. 2. (I wonder if that is how Obama got Roberts to roll over on Obamacare?) 5. That they did not just shut up after outing Flynn but instead allowed the press to keep going after Trump. Of course this was going to lead to proof of Echelons capability. Of course there would be leaks to a guy like Napolitano... which would reveal the the deal we have with the English or aussies. In which use echelon to spy on their citizens. They spy on our citizens and then we exchange all the info. This setup was exactly why Comey and the other deep state agency heads can swear there were no wiretaps. They don't need them. 6. What all this shows is that these deep state guys became too political and were not responsible enough with the secrets. They abused their power. Had they really been patriots and not politicians and found flynn to be a risk... they should have just gone to trump and said... this is what we got. this is what we can do... and fire flynn. 7. You wish. They have a long record of exposing scandals. They did far more to uncover the IRS scandals than the republicuck congress. Of course, establishment republicans were not unhappy that the IRS was illegally targeting Tea Party groups. You have to understand that in DC there is a thing called the Iron Triangle. You have an agency or department, you have the people who benefit off it, eg welfare recipients, farmers, defense contractors etc, and you have a congressional committee that is supposed to provide oversight. What typically happens is the committee is co-opted by one or both of the other sides of the triangle, and they begin to see their role as protecting the department and its programs rather than providing oversight. The intell committees have shown signs of this for a long time. Their "investigations" of scandals like Benghazi, 9/11 or the Snowden leaks were laughable exercises in covering for the agencies, eg CIA and FBI. Now this. These allegations, if true, and I have little doubt they are true, will make Watergate look like a small disagreement, provided they are not buried.
Of course Russian conspiracies require a different type of hat. What a coincidence! The same type of hat one might wear in Canada! Sitting right on Vladimir's head!
