The research paper "WOULD BANNING FIREARMS REDUCE MURDER AND SUICIDE?" by Don Kates LLD and Gary Mauser, Ph.D. published in the Harvard Journal for Law and Public Policy, vol30.num2., as well as others, have found NO correlation between the availability of guns and either the homicide rate or the suicide rate. Do your research!
30,000 people per year getting killed is just the price we pay to stay safe in the US. Only two or three kids under 15 are killed by guns every day in America which is a small price to pay to have lots of guns and freedom and besides I don't know any of those kids.
So how many kids under 15 each day are killed by automobile accidents, injuries, medical errors, and substance abuse .... should we eliminate all cars, drugs, doctors, ABC stores and sports to eliminate this problem. This is a small price to pay to have lots of highways, medication, hospitals, alcohol, and sports fields... and besides I don't know any of those kids.
And the vast majority of those people/kids killed are killed by illegal weapons. You still haven't told us how you'd get those off the streets.
Oh wait....so you want me to show you a link, but when I ask you for links on those gun violence tirades you post (the ones that detail each day's gun accidents) that show the weapons are legally obtained, you ignore me. Have I got this straight? This is what you said when I asked the last time: The time before that, and the time before that, I was met with silence. Meanwhile I gave you a ton of links (go back a few pages) regarding all the kids killed in Chicago alone - gang related activity. I said "And that's just one city!" But remember, you told us "you don't care about thugs" (and the kids, I guess).
