Pretty sure the DOM will only display your new tick value. That should make it easier for you trading on the DOM, since the DOM is what you see.
Because its a business like any other. They won't take a hit on profits because something makes logical sense or to make retailers happy.
Your "pretty sure" is "pretty wrong", because it will display less bid ask levels For example if you set 0.50 as tick value the DOM will display only 5 bid ask levels The other 5 will be hidden....
Some tick size to value ratios YM 1:27000 NQ 1:40000 DAX 1:25000 ES 1:12800 Based on this the NQ tick is the tightest of the lot. Objectively NQ tick-size should probably be increased to 0.5. Problem is every time they make changes to a contract spec it has unknown and unintended consequences and also annoys the hell out of many of the existing traders.

the problem with the many exchanges are making the tick size smaller and smaller and smaller. futures with 7 digits : NQ now at 10052.75 they should change NQ to just 5 digits like 10053 DAX from Eurex exchange has only 5 digits. dax now at 12530 worst CME futures with 8 digits is jpy futures now at 0.0093550 There are some trading platforms that allow you to adjust the tick size to make it coarser. are there any trading platform that allows you to adjust CME products tick size ?
