NPR advocates censorship with this act

  1. Not all viewpoints are equal. Viewpoints are only as good as they are supportable, in relation to other and opposing viewpoints.

  2. I must give kudo's to Chris Matthews and Eugene Robinson for having the gut's to speak the truth as they just threw NPR under the bus. They see it for what it was, NPR being the thought and speech police of political correctness taken to it's most absurd extreme. When dyed in the wool lefties like Matthews and Robinson aren't with you, you know a line was crossed that even they find extremely dangerous.
NPR has no business receiving tax dollars anymore than Rush Limbaugh should get tax dollars. One could find more fair minded reporting on Al Jazeera than on NPR. They are the extreme fringe of the radical left, and will only be satisfied seeing the Lincoln Monument come down, to be replaced with a statue of Mao. Sad to say, there is absolutely no exaggeration in that statement.

  4. True, I will never be swayed from my generally liberal viewpoint. However, I am prepared to have my views challenged by witnessing a well-represented exchange. And although I may not pull a 180, I may alter my view on one matter or another. It has happened in the past and I have no doubt it will happen with some frequency in the future.

However, FOX offers no such challenge because, as I noted earlier, the "balanced" part is usually represented by a token liberal whipping boy who either gets drowned out or shouted down. The give and take is barely even window dressing. I find such exchanges deeply unsatisfying because the left is inadequately represented. If the right were so poorly represented on CNN, then I wouldn't watch CNN. I do not watch MSNBC.

I have a couple of religious friends who would not even take a brief look at Dawkins's books. They don't want their views to ever be challenged by a capable adversary. I believe that such a sentiment explains the draw that FOX has for its audience. It's predigested comfort food.

I could see where someone could draw that conclusion.
Especially if they spend much time in this forum.

  6. I assure you that I am not taking this opportunity to fault Palin politically. You already know I think she's a mental featherweight, so there's no purpose in my belaboring the point. However, quite apart from her mental vacuity, I, too, cannot stand her whiny, nasally voice. Fingernails meet chalkboard.

  7. Hello

    Hello

Fair enough, i dont watch fox during the day, i watch CNBC, which is actually probably right leaning.

The only guy on fox who i like watching is O'Reilly, and he definately does not just present "whipping boys" he has had Michael Moore, Howard Dean, Anthony Wiener, Bill Maher, Barney Frank, and many other strong liberals on his show.

Like i said before i will readily admit fox is biased, i hate hannity, beck, doocey and carlson, and i rarely watch their day time programming, infact I hate most of their day time people, and most of their night time people, truth be told when i wake up at 6:00 eastern i usually watch morning joe on msnbc, cause i like joe scarborough. :D

Lets just call a spade a spade, Fox is far right, msnbc is far left, and most of the other channels have a slight liberal skew.

  9. Agree with Gab on Fox news needing more liberal intelligent observers as Mr Williams, that can stand up to guys like Hannity and O'Reilly to some degree.

Also to note is that great majority of journalists (as well as teachers) tend to be left minded by nature.
