Now this is a scandal worth investigating

  1. This whole Feinstein matter is illustrative of how poorly the Republicans play the modern game of hard-ball politics. For those who didn't read the article, Feinstein sat on the Military Construction Subcommittee that approved projects that directly profitted her husband's company. Vietnam hero Duke Cunningham is rotting in a federal prison for less.

Feinstein is a liberal Democrat, so the major media have spiked this story. Dont expect to hear Katie lead with it. In their eyes, it would be rude to bring it up. It was obviously just a technical violation, and they are good people, so why get upset? Tell that to Duke Cunningham.

A competent Attorney General would have investigators all over this and convene a grand jury. Put the full court press on Feinstein and her husband, give them the Scooter Libby treatment. It won't happen. The Republicans are such cowards they would shrink from doing anything that would infuriate the Democrats and media. They reserve that hardball treatment for Republican war heroes and Border Patrol agents who piss off the mexican drug cartels.

And they wonder why Bush has a 30% approval rating?
