Absolutely spot on. “I will never agree with anybody disrespecting the flag of the United States of America or our country. Let me just tell what I see or what I feel when the national anthem is played and when I look at the flag of the United States. I envision my two grandfathers, who fought for this country during World War II, one in the Army and one in the Marine Corp. Both risking their lives to protect our country and to try to make our country and this world a better place. So every time I stand with my hand over my heart looking at that flag and singing the national anthem, that’s what I think about. And in many cases, that brings me to tears, thinking about all that has been sacrificed. Not just those in the military, but for that matter, those throughout the civil rights movements of the ‘60s, and all that has been endured by so many people up until this point. And is everything right with our country right now? No, it is not. We still have a long way to go. But I think what you do by standing there and showing respect to the flag with your hand over your heart, is it shows unity. It shows that we are all in this together, we can all do better and that we are all part of the solution.”
Why the fuck would anyone apologize for that?? Because a bunch of animals dogged him? Misquoted him? Fuck em. Arguably one of the greatest QBs of all time...done amazing things for his mostly Black community in NOLA. Fuck them and his teammates who threw him away.
These stories always bring out the same 4 or 5 racist dumb asses thinking they have something to say about minorities.
Yep, but because he’s a public figure everyone gets their panties in a wad when his opinion doesn’t match theirs. In that light, Hollywood actors/actresses should shut up and make movies..... musicians should shut up and make records.
Fox "News" Laura Ingraham a few days ago: "He's allowed to have his view about what kneeling and the flag means to him. I mean he's a person," Ingraham said of Brees after his disrespecting the flag comments earlier this week. "This is beyond football," she added. Fox "News" Laura Ingraham in 2018: “It’s always unwise to seek political advice from someone who gets paid $100 million a year to bounce a ball,” she said. “Keep the political comments to yourselves. ... Shut up and dribble.” + + + Need I point out to anyone Brees is WHITE and LeBron is BLACK.
You can't have it both ways, either LeBron is right to freely express his opinions (regardless if you approve) or he needs to stay out of political discussions. However you decide should be the same standard for everyone. If LeBron’s opinion is ok, then Bree’s opinion is ok and he needs no apology.
