That was a little tongue in cheek there. While it definitely wouldn't be done "just to own the libs", they'd definitely be aware about how the dems know full well what they just did.
So you got saved from some bad trades by an absurd tweet from a guy in a Covid fog. That might be a signal you are approaching this all wrong.
Reality is a lot of Americans still need the help during Covid and the second wave IS going to make it worse in the short term. Like most things Trump does the last 3+ years, if it turns bad on him within days he's try to reverse course. Of course, with an election already on, it's too late to get rid of the stink of all the negatives surrounding Trump's recent policies and actions. If the stock market corrects hard a landslide victory for the Democrats is a certainty. He is doing his best right now to make it happen. Biggest losers right now are the Republican party they are seeing their policies announced by Twitter it seems it's just whatever their "Dear Leader" decides off the top of his head.
Yes let's get another 1.5T in stimulus so Bezos and the other billionaires can receive the second round of the largest wealth transfer in the history of the country. Walmart will surely appreciate the rapid signing of a new stimulus bill because jobless people will be forced to shop there for food. You don't use your head much, do you? How about forcing businesses open and people back to work before our GDP asymptotically approaches 0?
You're literally advocating for corporate welfare in the form of giving people more money which they will spend on food at walmart, and luxuries on Amazon. This pandemic has been an unimaginable boon for the 21st century robber baron. Instead of advocating for putting people back to work either by tying stimulus to job searching or government work programs a'la the great depression, you're advocating for a no questions asked helicopter money program. You clearly don't understand economics. You clearly don't understand the GDP, the idea of a "reserve currency" or how money is actually circulated. And you're calling me clueless. Holy shit.
You are lost in theory and haven't lived long enough to understand how little you truly understand about the world.
Seems straightforward to me - Allow stimulus under some conditions: 1. Stimulus is paid out as compensation for work done for a government work program. There are plenty of parks, roads, manual labor (house building, etc) and other jobs that need to be done. We can clean up all these things and improve our country while insuring people are working. or 2. Stimulus is paid out in the form of EBT/Welfare. Funds are locked such that first your housing expenses are paid from the stimulus, and any remainder can only be spent on goods necessary for survival. No amazon, no walmart, etc. You'll be going to the local government office to collect your bag of food and toiletries in exchange for FoodTokens. These are the only ways I can see we can prevent enriching the ultra wealthy who control the supply chain and also improve our country. Being Canadian and not knowing anything about America you probably never actually studied the great depression so it's understandable you know jack shit about it. But the country has done (1) before and it worked well. (2) is a more modern solution since we have the infrastructure to control welfare money already. We call that EBT here, and it's so strict people sell their EBT cards outside of local grocers in order to buy booze/luxuries. Mind you, this is extremely illegal but they are rarely ever punished. We have the infrastructure to do this. All of this helicopter money is simply lobbyist controlling our money supply to direct it right into the pockets of billionaires.
That's just food stamps. That does not encompass all the other welfare given to folks through programs like WIC.
