yup, the bull market is strong. stocks with better than expected earnings gap up and run. stocks that "should" pull back don't, and stocks that gap down during the day are often starting down and giving clear "bullish" intraday patterns.

so the easiest money is to be made from the bull side. why fight it?

me, my best trading technique is shorting. so there are some days where i'm waiting for my setup, and they may not come. so be it.

but my best trading is coming when i'm NOT forcing things, and if i see the market telling me 'my' stocks are going up, i don't short and then bitch and moan whien they go up. i wait until 'my' setups are in place, and then pull the trigger.

Amen to that. I have just perfected a strategy to generate 2000% return if we have a year like 1999 :)

  5. we know that the unconcious part decides within 1/2 second wether we like someone or not. It has a speed that works maybe 1000x faster than the concious part. It is especially good and fast in pattern recognition.
So its all we would need for good trading ?
All trading books I know about psychology are about killing this part of the brain and always let the concious part take full control.
The reason is, that the unconcious part also has certain properties that may have been good 2000 years ago when it came to hunting or running away from a big animal but are fatal in trading. So in trading, the average beginner trader survives longer when he follows the advice of these books.
But the key to sucessfull trading for me was to switch back to letting my unconcious part make the trading decision which as we all know is especially difficult in exiting a position. Thats why most traders have good entries, but bad exits. When you enter, there is no conviction or whatever you have to defend you have neither been proven wrong or right until this moment, you are in a neutral status and thats where you can freely listen to your unconc. part.
I can only master the negative impacts from my unconcious parts and take mainly advantage of its positive parts by trading small size. I found out, that I can't trade this way if the size is to big, because then my unconcious part gets in a frozen status that doesn't work for me any more.
Of course you need years of trading for the unconcious part to become sucessfull because it needs data to work with.

The impressive thing about VJET is that despite the initial pop at the open to somewhere in the $25.xx region, it broke above that level before midday and closed at $28.80. Most IPOs usually decline after the initial pop when trading commences.
