i'd like to know whether it would be better to trade with a notebook with "normal" or widescreen display.

    any idea?

as big a screen as possible, notebook or no notebook.

  3. I use to think that way, but I prefer the mobility that my notebooks give me. Im using 4 notebooks right now, and 2 desktops. During the summer, or when the day is great, there is nothing better then moving your entire setup, outside and start trading.

  4. I don't like notebooks for trading. I like to trade the same setup, from the same location, from the same desk during the same hours with the same product. I feel a notebook would just spoil my routine.

I got a 17" widescreen notebook, works great for me!

What was the resolution? I was thinking of getting one until I saw the resolution. How small are the fonts? I would be afraid of straining my eyes staring at tiny numbers all day.

  7. My HP (www.hp.com) is a really nice notebook:

    HP Pavilion dv8000z CTO NB

    - 17.0" WSXGA+ BrightView Wide Viewing (1680x1050)

I didn't get the best screen option either.

Is it hard on the eyes (i.e. too small)?

  9. No, you can adjust everything so that it fits your needs.

I got 1920x1200. Yes the font are really small, but my trading platform has the option of larger fonts and it works really well. You can also adjust the font size in "Screen properties" but then you lose some clarity.
