The police state is very very close. A couple of judges who argue that constitution should be a living breathing document and boom, big govt envelopes all our rights. The change from God given to Federal Govt allowed.

its scary no one on the left opens their mouths about big govt when a leftist is in charge.

You could see MSNBC and the New York Times cheering a a Chavez type as administration starts telling Fox its has to change its programming and arrests Glen Beck for hate crimes.

You could see the left cheering as calling the govt names becomes a crime.

You could see the left cheering as Churches are told they must be more inclusive on the pulpit.

It is quite true that some people are less concerned with personal freedom than others. There are plenty of people who would think, as you do, that that the young man wearing an "Occupy..." tee shirt was an "idiot" as you put it, and deserved to harassed. They don't see anything wrong with picking someone out of an airport security check line because their clothes make an anti-establishment statement. These same people apparently don't care whether there exists a reason or not to assume that someone wearing an "Occupy..." Tee shirt is more likely to commit a terrorist act than a terrorist wearing "normal" clothes. Apparently, in their minds it would not be unusual for a terrorist to go through an airport security line calling attention to themselves by wearing clothes that make an anti-establishment statement.
