Poll: Perry, White Tied In Governor's Race

HOUSTON -- A new poll shows Gov. Rick Perry and the man who wants the job, former Houston Mayor Bill White, are tied, KPRC Local 2 reported Tuesday.

Public Policy Polling shows the two are in a 43-43 tie. Pollsters said White, the Democratic candidate, has improved his numbers by winning independents.

White said he has gained momentum by meeting people across the state and gaining name recognition along the way.

"I think, frankly, our own numbers are a little bit behind that," White said. "There's a lot of people who don't know who I am. I've always done great in polls where people knew something about both of us."
Perry, who is the Republican incumbent, is in China.

"We tend not to look too much into polling information," Perry campaign Press Secretary Alejandro Garcia said. " A perfect example would be the Rasmussen poll. It was ahead. Now this one is tied. The only one that matters to us is on Election Day."
The margin of error for the poll is plus or minus 4.4 percent. [/B]

  8. I'm half Mexican.

Believe me, none on my mom's side - the Mexican side - will be voting Dem.

The only ones that will are the lazy asses that want to mooch off the hard working Mexicans, Caucasians, Blacks, Orientals, etc that are their golden goose.

What will matter 20 years from now, will be whether or not rational thinking minorities - like say, Bill Cosby - are listened to. He tells it like it is, ie, liberals have done nothing to ACTUALLY help the black people. If anything, they are making them dependent on handouts, and killing any initiative that they may have.

All in the name of votes.

Get this straight - liberalism most definitely ISN'T about social injustice. It's all about making white liberals feel better about their white guilt by way of wealth distribution.

GOP House Candidate Tom Mullins: Consider Land Mines on Border with Mexico But NOT Canada (Audio)

Tom Mullins (right), the Republican candidate who is challenging Dem incumbent Rep. Ben Ray Lujan for the U.S. House seat in NM-03, is in hot water with local and national media alike. The revelation that he discussed placing land mines on the Mexican border as an option in a KNMX radio interview during the recent GOP primary has created a national firestorm of criticism and mockery of Mullins.

One Arizona politician has made a vow to make illegal immigrants powerless -- literally.

Republican Barry Wong, a candidate for the Arizona Corporation Commission, an elected body that decides public utility issues, says he would require the utilities to check the immigration status of customers, he told the Arizona Republic.

"I'm sure there will be criticism about human-rights violations," said Wong, who held a temporary spot on the five-person Commission in 2006. "Is power or natural gas or any type of utility we regulate, is that a right that people have? It is not a right. It is a service."

Cutting electricity, water, natural gas, even telephone lines at the homes of illegal immigrants, he said, would lower costs for the rest of the state's customers. He believes the population spike caused by illegal immigrants forces the state to build new power plants and then raise rates for customers.
