I seriously doubt that they made all kinds of compromises to get the congressional votes lined up. Very seriously.

Gruber and company slapped together a socialist plan that the donors in the health care industry would go along with and then it was up to czars pelosi and Reid to ram it through. There was little doubt that they would get enough votes. The actual count was nothing but an act out of a play.

Of course he did you idiot. How else could anything be passed in the Senate??? It had to go through Baucus on the way! And Baucus was thoroughly in the pockets of the insurance industry. Baucus would be the one you would pick to find out what compromise could get through. Otherwise the insurance companies were going to block O'Romneycare.

Not to mention all the cheating to secure Al Franken's crucial (and phony) "60th" Senate vote.

This is among a long list of incredibly destructive things the Republicans have done for purely political reasons that is a long, long way from the best interests of the people! Any fourth grader could tell us that you shouldn't get rid of something essential until you have a replacement lined up. There are millions of people that never had access to routine medical care before, that do now. If you repeal O'Romney care without having a replacement standing by these millions are suddenly back to waiting hours in the emergency rooms at a huge cost net increase. But the percentage of voters among this constituency is low, so the Republican attitude is just fuck'em. They are low information voters, if they vote at all. They get their information from youtube on their cell phones, from Breitbart or Infowars. So lie to them; tell them what they want to hear, but just fuck'em.

Why does the Republican leadership do this crap? It's because there are too few who actually benefit much from Republican policies and initiatives to elect anyone. The Capital class is much smaller than the Labor class. But Capital has discovered that there are a lot of low information voters that they can lie to and get away with it. They have learned to manipulate this subset of voters by playing to their prejudices and hang-ups -- these are the folks who actually believe that Hillary should be locked up, Obama was born in Kenya, and Mexican rapists streaming across the border are the reason they don't have jobs. This hoodwinking of these particular, less astute voters -- the subset that can be motivated to actually turn up at the polls-- is working for the Republicans, and that's why they do it. Nevertheless, it's immoral, unethical, and inexcusable. Donald Trump is a Dream come true for the less principled faction of the party. Not all Republicans, however, are devoid of an ethical compass. These are the ones unhappy with a Trump Presidency. But sadly they are now on the outside peeking into the once great Grand Old Party circus tent.

Piezoe cease calling me an idiot when you are trolling out partisan bullshit not based on any true history of how it happened. you are just making shit up and its disgusting. Obamacare was virtually never going to be single payer. that was not the republicans fault it was the democrat leaderships fault.

Piezoe why are you trolling such bullshit out of your mouth. You did not watch the video and see the part where the insurance companies walked into Obama's office and told him how it was going to proceed. You are just spewing your own stream of bullshit out of you fingers. Baucus was Obama pick to work with the insurance companies. Had he wanted single payer he would have picked someone who could do that.

The point is your side could have given us single payer. They had all the votes to control congress. They did not because your parties leaders sold out. You could not even read the bill til it passed remember?

You can't say that some republicans would not have voted for single payer if it was on the table. Had the democrats crafted a law to help people some republicans would have had to vote for it.

It was not on the table because your leaders sold out to insurance companies early.

Watch the video from frontline and learn something.

will you cut this shit out... here is michael moore telling you it was insurance company care by design.

    https://www.washingtonpost.com/news...ng-about-single-payer/?utm_term=.7f20024a4fd3

Michael Moore greeted the introduction of Obamacare with an admission many liberals will cheer. “Obamacare is awful,” he wrote.

Its awfulness, Moore said, stems from “one fatal flaw: The Affordable Care Act is a pro-insurance-industry plan implemented by a president who knew in his heart that a single-payer, Medicare-for-all model was the true way to go.”

you always know a partisan hack when they take legit issues and pretend they are not real.

    1. Hillary broke the law, lied and probably cost people lives with her beach of security.
its perfectly legitimate to say she should be in jail.

    2. a . How would you know if Obama was a natural born citizen. You have no idea because it has not been properly defined. The fact his dad was kenyan is an argument that he was not a natural born citizen. The supreme ct needs to define Natural Born.

    b. Obama's publishers press release said he was kenyan.

    c. When he was supposed to present discovery to a court showing where he was born he chose to default.

    d. So the only reason you are any other lying sob on the planet (besides the people who actually witnessed his birth) states Obama was born in Hawaii is based "proof" found on the internet.

Any truly honest assessment of the facts is that we don't have any court certified proof of where Obama was born. Sure, he was probably born in Hawaii but we don't know and as far as we know he never proved that fact to any election board or court.

    3. Trump has stated the replacement should come virtually simultaneously. Why are you acting like Trump is arguing it should just be a repeal. that is strawman bullshit.

Piezoe, why don't you argue with facts instead of partisan bullshit. By the way you know you are arguing a bunch of crap when you refer to Obamacare as ORomney.

Waiting hours at an emergency room for a checkup? If it is so essential how did we ever survive without ACA?
