Not cool...

  1. Interesting you had it on the US server as well. It's scary to know this can happen during market hours. 1.5 hours is not short, it lasted here around an hour possibly 1.5 hours. Luckily markets were calm. On the other hand I honestly don't remember when IB had such long outage. It must have been years ago and I run tws and gateways every single day. Today was different from the daily resets.

    Totally. Daily resets do not cause such issues. As long as this is no more than once a year type of thing, just cost of doing business.

  3. Well, I take it more seriously than that. I have a call scheduled tomorrow and will be contacted in the HK morning time from their local office (so they promised) as I like to understand what happened and what they are planning to do to prevent such glitch from happening again. Over 15% of my life investments are with this broker. 1 hour of outage was quite long, luckily I had no volatile positions in the locked out accounts at that time.

    Yep I occasionally get disconnected as well.

    I keep their trade desk on emergency speed dial for cases like these. The software and the gateway are so finnicky all the time.

  6. For what it's worth, I noticed some instability last week with market data, not account data. Clearly they hired some interns.
